For the very first time a Ugandan badminton player had qualified and participated in the Para-Badminton World Championships, which took place in November 2013 in Dortmund, Germany. Isa Kasadha was classified as SU5, wich means that his impairments are in the upper limbs. Other classes where for wheel chair players, players with disabilties in the lower limbs and those of short stature.

The tournament started on November 5 with the classification process. Due to the expected inclusion into the paralympic program for 2020, most of the players had to be re-classified, which took a lot of time. The real matches started on Wednesday with the group stage.
