BWF STATEMENT ON WITHDRAWAL OF TURKISH AND INDONESIAN PLAYERS
The Badminton World Federation (BWF) and Badminton England can confirm one more player – Turkey’s Neslihan Yigit – has been withdrawn from the YONEX All England Open 2021. Yigit was on the same inbound flight from Turkey to UK as the Indonesian team.

The UK Government’s National Health Service (NHS) Test and Trace service did also communicate notice of the required self-isolation to Yigit, with BWF and Badminton England receiving confirmation early Thursday morning GMT.
Uganda International 2021
The Uganda International Badminton Tournament 2021 will be held from 25th to 28th of February, 2021, at Lugogo Indoor Stadium, Kampala, Uganda.
It will be an International Series Tournament with a price money of USD 10,000 and is part of the BWF World Ranking Circuit and part of the BCA Circuit.
BWF STATEMENT ON CHANGES TO TOURNAMENT STATUS
The Badminton World Federation (BWF) can confirm the US Open 2021 – a Super 300 tournament on the HSBC BWF World Tour – has been cancelled. The tournament was due to take place from 6-11 July 2021. BWF also confirms the YONEX Canada Open 2021 has been cancelled. The BWF Tour Super 100 tournament was slated for 29 June to 4 July 2021.
BWF WELCOMES FIRST BATCH OF SEMI-PROFESSIONAL UMPIRES IN BADMINTON
The era of semi-professional umpires has dawned in badminton, with members of the first batch appointed by BWF officiating at the Asian Leg in January and at the recently-concluded YONEX Swiss Open 2021. The appointment of Bert Vahorenbeeck (Belgium), Diraj Gooneadry (Mauritius), Fabio Betto (Italy), Iris Metspalu (Estonia), Jiten Bhatt (Australia), Robbertus Tommy Oscariano (Indonesia) and Trish Gubb (New Zealand) is a milestone in BWF’s quest to achieve excellence in officiating.
